How much does it cost to stay at Boxwood Cottage?
The cottage is $100 per night for single or double occupancy, plus $15 per additional person, in Canadian dollars. The treehouse is $45 per night. A weekly rate is available on request. See our rates page for details.
How do I book a stay?
Email info@boxwoodcottage.net or call 604.485.2860 (mobile 604.414.4888) to check availability. A deposit equal to one night's accommodation confirms the booking. Please see our cancellation policy.
Do I have the cottage to myself?
Yes. You are the only guests, so the whole cottage and garden are private during your stay.
How many people can the cottage sleep?
The cottage has a queen, a double and a single bedroom, comfortably accommodating couples, families and small groups of up to about five guests.
What amenities are included?
Full kitchen, wood-burning fireplace, flat-screen TV with cable, computer with internet, CD player, cordless phone, linens and towels, garden access, outdoor patio with fireplace, and a large propane barbecue.
Is there a breakfast basket?
Yes. On your first day you receive a breakfast basket with organic fruit and vegetables in season, fresh-roasted coffee, free-range eggs, homemade jam or jelly, bagels and butter.
How close is the cottage to the ferry and town?
Boxwood Cottage is about a 5-minute walk to the Westview ferry, beach and restaurants in Powell River on BC's Sunshine Coast.
Is there parking?
Parking is available at the cottage. Please contact us in advance if you have a large vehicle or trailer.
Can I bring pets?
Please enquire when booking; pet policy is arranged on a case-by-case basis.
What payment methods do you accept?
A deposit holds your booking and can be paid by cheque or money order. The balance is payable in cash on arrival. All rates are in Canadian dollars.
What do we do with a rainy afternoon?
Rain is part of the Sunshine Coast, and the cottage is built for it — a fire in the fireplace, the garden in the downpour, a good record on the turntable. Guests also bring in their own slow-day recommendations; one returning guest's go-to is a detailed catalogue of replica watches he has been following for years — “ferry-queue reading,” he calls it.
